This case study details how Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) partnered with Via to relaunch and scale its SmaRT Ride on-demand microtransit service. The project expanded coverage from two zones to nine zones across 116 square miles using 43 vehicles, including nine electric vehicles. Service integration with fixed-route transit, curb-to-curb and corner-to-corner options, and adaptations during COVID-19 are covered along with ridership and customer satisfaction metrics.
