Mothercare WMS Implementation After De-merger and DC Migration
Case study of Mothercare's Warehouse Management deployment on IBM i following 2000 de-merger, including migration to a new national distribution centre and productivity improvements.
Mothercare implemented Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management to replace legacy logistics after its de-merger from Storehouse Group. The solution supported inventory management across two DCs, enabled migration to a consolidated national distribution centre, and delivered operational flexibility on the IBM i platform. Performance Services analysis later identified ten recommendations that increased productivity and reduced costs while supporting international growth.
WMS selected to support post-de-merger logistics independence and growth strategy
Seamless inventory visibility maintained across multiple DCs during phased migration
IBM i platform compatibility aligned with existing IT infrastructure and strategy
Performance Services assessment produced ten actionable recommendations for productivity gains
Minimal operational disruption achieved during system reconfiguration and user retraining
