Massdiscounters, a major South African value retailer, expanded into groceries under the FoodCo brand while operating Game and DionWired formats. The company moved from best-of-breed tools to a JDA suite including Demand, Fulfillment, Allocation, and Promotions Optimization. Cloud deployment replaced third-party hosting, enabling planners to interact directly with demand forecasts and manage a new multi-tier distribution network of three DCs serving Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, and Mozambique.
