ABB Foundry Group eMelt System with GENESIS32 HMI/SCADA
Case study of ABB Foundry Group's eMelt product using ICONICS GENESIS32 for furnace monitoring, control, and MES functions in metal melting operations.
ABB Foundry Group implemented GENESIS32 Enterprise as the HMI/SCADA platform for its eMelt foundry solution. The system connects to thermocouples, spectrometers, Modicon PLCs, and Allen-Bradley controllers via OPC on a single Windows server. Operators use GraphWorX32 for furnace visualization, AlarmWorX32 for process alarms, and TrendWorX32 for real-time trending across melting stages. The solution supports up to four furnaces with 300 I/O points and integrates with Microsoft Access for data logging.
